Maybe magnum, just maybe, he was giving you a secret hint (so he wouldn't get in trouble) that (like stuckinarut said) "it's helping us see how stupid this is and leave"!!!

by Magnum insome time ago a super-dub stopped by to try to encourage me to return to jw land.
my demeanor during our conversation was extremely serious.
i was polite, but dignified.

Using Watchtowers Own Reasoning Against Them RE: The Governing Body
by pale.emperor insomething occurred to me today.
quite randomly as i was working away at my desk i remembered an illustration from the bible teach book in which satan claimed he knew better than jehovah about ruling mankind.
here's the illustration from chapter 11 of that book:.

Good one, PE! perfect for cart witnessing!
Lately, the scripture "Always learning, yet never coming to an accurate knowledge of truth" keeps appealing to me, especially in reference to this 'new generation' thing.

My Boyfriend's Family Wants to Meet Mine (My Parent's are JWs) Help!
by LaurenM inso i have been "faded" for approximately 2.5 years.
my parents know i haven't attended a meeting in quite some time, but don't know that i have been dating a guy for about eight months.
we really love each other and his family is super sweet.

One more "two cents"... What if you DO introduce them to your parents, your mom and dad don't talk to you and then.....
you don't keep that boyfriend? All that drama for nothing.
One thing I would say for sure. Your life has to be yours. Otherwise, you will have regrets.

This is my story
by paradiseseeker ini've already posted in this forum but i haven't told you my story.
nowadays i'm a pimo in my late 20s from spain.. i was born in the cult and i can say that during my whole childhood and most of my teenage years i believed in this.
however, i felt that here was something wrong with me, as i wasn't comfortable telling people i was jw, talking about jw stuff, nor did i feel "excited" and "grateful" whenever a watchtower publication told me that i should.

Hi paradiseeker,
You have a strong will for truth, that is why you feel the need to leave. We all wanted "truth", and that is why we are all disappointed and even mad at WT for lying to us...
When asked the monumental question, "Where will you go?" Simply answer, "Somewhere I am not lied to"

Maybe it wasn't what you wrote here...
Maybe it was someone who had access to your phone or browser history? That would do it!

The "Imperfect Men" Argument
by steve2 inone of the most common "defences" of jw organization is that "the brothers" are imperfect yet still strive to follow god's word.
"sure, they make mistakes," so the argument goes, "but so did god's people in the past, including in bible times.
" the key point is their readiness to keep studying god's word and learning from their mistakes.".

What was your trigger to waking up ?
by CovertsadJW ingood afternoon , .
i wanted to ask everyone here , what was your trigger to waking up ?
i have been waking up for a long time , but in looking back itโs hard for me to look at one event and say โ ah ha โ , i think mine is like a slow leak - like a crack in a damn - and then hold on , because after that itโs just a flood of information.

I always had questions, and in the 70's and 80's we could ask, discuss, research things, even disagree... to a certain extent... as long as you said, "well, we'll see what Jehovah does" and, you were always on a hamster wheel.
For me, my husband, two sons and daughter in law, it was 607. BAM! GONE! No more lies.

Good job Dan, you will look back on this day feeling so happy to have not spent one more minute under the thumb of lies. Now, you can truly live life, breathe, explore, change your mind, play, grow, sleep in!
Congratulations, you have taken your life back!
